Telios provided MEP Engineering and Technology Design to the city of Southlake, Texas for a replacement of their west division of Public Safety. This hardened 87,000 SF four-story facility incorporated programming for a fire station, police and forensic lab facilities, a municipal court, a network operations center, and a future 911 dispatch center. In light of post 911 threats to city and municipal governments, the building was designed to be a hub for the city’s disaster recovery and first response coordination. Bulletproof glass, city wide IP camera network infrastructure, and a diesel generator and fuel storage system to handle 100% of the building electrical demand, were a few of the unique challenges that were addressed by the design team.Fire alarm and EMS notification, antenna, security, AV, building automation, and structured cabling systems were all provided as a turnkey coordinated design package, to insure that the building’s essential communications systems would provided flexibility for upgrades and future growth.
