The Houston SPCA’s “Campus for All Animals,” developed through a $25 million capital campaign and spans a 12-acre site on Old Katy Road. The campus was designed to centralize and expand the organization’s ability to care for a wide range of animals including companion pets, horses, farm animals, native wildlife, and exotic animals. Key facilities include the 28,000-square-foot Ann Slemons Young Adoption Center, which offers a calm, welcoming environment for adoptable pets. Also, the 9,000-square-foot Annie White Graham Wildlife Center, one of the largest wildlife rehabilitation facilities in the nation, that treats over 11,000 animals annually. Additional features include specialized flight cages, reptile enclosures, and aquatic habitats tailored for various species.
The campus also supports large-animal rescue and rehabilitation through the Dr. Amy Alexander Equine Care Center and the 23,000-square-foot Rescue Arena, which serves both recovery and emergency response functions. Educational and community engagement are facilitated through the Carruth Education Center, which hosts camps, volunteer training, and public events. On-site amenities include dog parks for members, a residence for Texas A&M veterinary students completing shelter medicine rotations, and ample outdoor areas for animal recovery and training.
Healthcare is a major component of the campus, anchored by the Animal Medical Center—a renovated, AAHA-certified hospital that provides full veterinary services, including surgery, dental care, and intensive care for both shelter animals and public pets. Complementing this is the Houston SPCA’s Pet Wellness Clinic at a nearby location, offering affordable preventive care to support community pet health.
