This complex, multi-phase renovation project was completed within an active surgical suite on Level 5 of this hospital location.
Phase 1 involved the full demolition of Operating Rooms 28, 29, and 30, along with adjacent support areas, to make way for a state-of-the-art intraoperative MRI (ioMRI) suite. The new suite includes an MRI room flanked by two fully equipped operating rooms, allowing seamless integration of imaging and surgical care.
Phase 2 focused on the complete demolition and reconstruction of the existing brain suite. This phase delivered three new operating rooms outfitted with advanced Da Vinci robotic surgery systems, supporting the client’s commitment to cutting-edge surgical technology.
Teliosity provided MEP and technology design services for both phases. Our scope included:
• MRI-compatible MEP infrastructure
• A dedicated process chilled water system for MRI magnet cooling
• A supplemental air handling unit designed specifically for the MRI suite
• Integrated laminar flow ceiling systems for surgical-grade air quality
• Technology systems including voice/data, A/V, access control, and security
The project was executed with careful phasing and coordination to ensure uninterrupted operations within the surrounding surgical areas. Total construction cost: approximately $26 million.
