Teliosity provided MEP eEgineering and Voice/Data, Security and Audio Visual design for 225,000 SF AAA Texas Regional Headquarters. The facility houses the regional corporate headquarters office, a call center with over 5,500 data cables, multiple training and conference rooms as well as a 7,500 square foot Tier III data center and a NOC.
Technology
The technology design was tailored to each department’s need, use and specification. Teliosity began working with the AAA user groups early in the design process to integrate these individual departmental requirements and existing corporate technology standards into the construction documents. Teliosity also worked closely with the design team to coordinate architectural and MEP design with the technology design. This project includes over 2,500 feet of cable tray designed in revit and coordinated with MEP trades; this process minimized installation issues during construction. In addition, AAA relocated a large portion of their existing data equipment to the new data center. Teliosity assisted with the design of rack layouts, rack to rack cabling, costing and scheduling.
MEP Engineering
The data center, NOC and MDF rooms schedule were critical issues on this project, as the client needed these areas operational before migrating equipment and installing furniture in the call center spaces. Teliosity worked with the design and construction team to expedite the data center and complete commissioning three months before the rest of the campus would be occupied. The campus data center is supplied with 2N electrical and N+1 mechanical infrastructure, with emergency power and cooling also provided to the NOC and roadside response call centers that operate 24/7.Since completion, Telosity has continued to provide the operations team with ongoing support at the campus for data center equipment installs and office improvements.
