Construction Superintendent Job

Position available for an experienced and skilled Construction Superintendent to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) commercial construction, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to oversee and coordinate onsite work. The MEP focused Construction Superintendent will play a critical role in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day operations of construction projects, including scheduling, coordination of resources, and monitoring progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure that work is executed according to project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including supervising and managing on-site personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to identify and resolve any issues or deficiencies, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, and progress, and provide regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Ensure that all project documentation, including permits, contracts, change orders, and progress reports, are accurate, complete, and up-to-date, and maintain proper record-keeping.

Minimum Criteria:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in construction management or a related field preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience as a construction project superintendent or similar role
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage project teams effectively
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations, as well as construction materials, methods, and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to travel domestically 50% of the time is required
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools, including scheduling and project management software
