DataBank is a colocation and managed service provider based in Dallas, Texas with over 20 data centers throughout the US. Telios has provided engineering and commissioning services to DataBank for various expansions and acquisitions since 2012.
DataBank’s third DFW Data Center, provides over 72,000 square feet of raised-floor space for build-to-suit client deployments, with a masterplan that allows expansion to 265,000 square feet.
Telios was the Engineer of Record for the powered shell, as well as the fit-out for DataBank after the building was bought from Stream. Two 20MW diverse feeds were extended from two substations with a flexible electrical topology allowing 2N, N+1 and N power delivery to the floor.
The mechanical systems were designed to include both perimeter cooling and in row cooling for densities up to 100kW per cabinet and scale modularly to allow just in time deployment as additional Data Halls are added.
Telios supported the Uptime Construction certification site testing and provided level 5 Commissioning. Design of Hall 3 started in 2020 and construction completed in April 2021.
Telios worked alongside DataBank on the design and deployment of each data hall ensuring tenant requirements were met while allowing for future flexibility. Telios played a key role in guiding the design, utilizing real-time power data to optimize the electrical system and conducted CFD analysis to ensure proper airflow for each deployment. The construction of the building was done in phases and completed in 2024 with a new 40MW, 265,000 SF extension currently under development to meet the growing data center demand.
